Microsoft to announce its first Windows Phone device tomorrow

Last week we saw Microsoft change their Windows Phone Facebook and Twitter accounts name to Microsoft Lumia. This name change is part of the brand transition from Nokia to Microsoft. Well tomorrow Microsoft is set to announce a new Windows Phone under the name Microsoft.

The phones that will be announced tomorrow will be sporting the new brand name under Microsoft. Tomorrow’s event is called the #MoreEvent, where Microsoft will announce its first phone, Microsoft also have made a video about it on its new YouTube channel.

The Windows Phone YouTube channel was taken and a new channel called Microsoft Lumia was opened.

The rumors are that we may see a new Lumia 535 being announced tomorrow along with a 6″ Lumia 1330, though we can’t be sure of anything.


But leaked screenshots of a phone with the Microsoft branding what seems to be the Lumia 535 surfaced a few days ago on China’a Tieba, an online community powered by Baidu.


From the images, Microsoft branding is clearly visible at the front and the back of the handset. As for specs, earlier leaks point to a 5-inch qHD screen (960 x 540), 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, 5 MP camera with flash, VGA front shooter and a 1,900 mAh battery. The device is rumored to be available in a total of seven color variants, and is said to offer dual-SIM functionality.


There’s definitely something coming up tomorrow at the Microsoft’s #MoreLumia event, we will keep you folks posted on what was announced on the #MoreLumia event. Microsoft may also give us a broader details on their plans for Lumia devices and also may share a ETA for the upcoming Lumia Denim update for its Lumia phones.
