One of the the most awaited flagships of this year is the OnePlus 5. Many of you might not be able to comprehend the idea of the name. Why is the new phone called OnePlus 5 instead of OnePlus 4? What will this new new flagship offer? Let us find out.
Firstly, the phone will be named OnePlus 5 because according to the Chinese, the number ‘4’ is considered to be unlucky and hence it is omitted. But hey, you can consider the OnePlus 3T to be the 4 (excluding OnePlus X).
The OnePlus 5 will feature a 4000 mAh battery running a 3.2 GHz Snapdragon 835 chipset. The phone might be powered by 8 GB RAM or it might stick to 6 GB RAM. The phone is also rumoured to have a dual edge screen like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The phone is also rumoured to have a 23 MP dual primary camera and 256 GB of internal storage. However, the phone might stick to the 16 MP selfie shooter as on the OnePlus 3T.
According to Phone Arena, there will be an additional colour variant. The same phone or the OnePlus 3T will be available in Jet Black. The phone might be also feature a ceramic body like the Xiaomi Mi Mix.
The OnePlus 5 is expected to be launched in April 2017. Also, the expected price tag on this new flagship is ₹ 33,999.
The above information is, of course, based on rumours and leaks. Only time will tell what OnePlus has up it’s sleeve.
