The Samsung Galaxy S5 was released a few days ago by the Korean “Giant” at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It features a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 2800 mAh battery, 5.1″ Super AMOLED 1080p display, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC 16 MP camera and the rear panel is still removable. It has pretty much the same design but with a dotted rear panel. But the S5 does not have a 64-bit processor, so I believe Samsung saved it up for the next flagship eh? This phone is IP67 certified which means its a Water Resistant phone. However, it is not Waterproof. It can just survive a few “water attacks” but cannot be worked with underwater. The phone also comes along with Android 4.4 KitKat.
Some of you wouldn’t know, but this was a very hyped up device (not in India). We expected a lot! We expected new features. Something that would make the phone different. But, its still the same. I have to admit that it has really good specs. But, I personally feel that the Phone wasn’t that great of an update. The so called “Touch-ID” is an inconvenience. You have to rub the home button to unlock the phone. The phone has had some change with the design. The rear panel is not very appealing. The phone comes in black, blue(least bad looking, I’d say), white and gold as people would say “The Band-Aid edition”. Surprisingly, it has a heart rate sensor. (Any idea in what way would it be put to use by an average user?)
Even though the phone is a disappointing update, on the baseline, I can say that this is one of the most powerful smartphones available in market today. Stayed tuned for detailed reviews on this phone.
